The Pocket Book of East North Broadway by Mary Rodgers: Part 1 - The Early Days

East North Broadway is a street in a neighborhood within Columbus, Ohio known as Clintonville. It is located in the township of Clinton in the County of Franklin.
The street was born May 12, 1891 when the Commissioners of Franklin County awarded the contract to improve and maintain a new street. In a time when roads in the area were made of gravel and dirt, North Broadway must have been a beauty. Made of Hallwood block, it was at least 20 feet wide with 20 feet of grass on both sides and sidewalks beyond. It was about a mile long, extending from North High Street on the west to the CCC and St. Louis railway on the east. The original plat shows that it was adorned by street circles-one located at Beech Hill (now known as Calumet), one at Clinton Sharon Pike (aka Dayton Mock now known as Indianola) and a half circle at the railroad depot.
